If you are not really good at using tools, you would much rather prefer using instant grab adhesives for fitting your skirting boards. Let us face it, no one really has the time to use nails to fit their skirting boards any more.
So do not worry, here we are! We are going to help you out in fitting your skirting boards. We want to help our customers throughout the process!
Of course, if you are looking for something long term and you feel confident with doing the job yourself or if you can afford the labour cost, then you can go ahead and use nails to fit your skirting boards. But do know, that it will be much difficult to replace your skirting boards when you decide to redesign your house.
So here is what we recommend, so you can do it yourself!
We recommend using a solvent adhesive to fit your skirting boards. This is by far the easiest way to fit your skirting boards. Not only this, you can use it for a tonne of other things, we have found out that it makes everything stick.
We would recommend using the Unibond high strength instant grab adhesive
This works amazingly well with skirting boards and a lot of other stuff. However, for architraves we recommend using nails along with the adhesives. Since architraves have to take the knocks of doors slamming, nails ensure that they stay put.
We absolutely recommend the Unibond adhesive for short runs as well as long runs. However, we would like to point out that you should try to use nails if you are in it for the long run, and adhesives if you are in it for the short run ( renting the house).
Imagine putting in the nails and some poor bloke having to remove them later when he rents the same apartment :/
